Path/Row Search

Sensor: All sensors will be searched if nothing is selected in this list. To restrict the search to specific sensors, click on either ETM+, TM, or MSS. To remove or add another selection, shift (or Apple) click.
WRS Type: For ETM+ and TM, this should always be set to WRS-2. When searching MSS, this should be set to WRS-1 (but some of our MSS holdings are in WRS-2). Searches in the "Path/Row Search" based on the metadata and not on the spatial coordinates. If you wish to search by path/row spatially, use Map Search instead. See the USGS page for more information about the Worldwide Reference System.
Acquisition Date: To search by the acquisition date of the data, enter in the starting and ending dates you want to search. If you want to search for a specific day, set the starting and ending dates to the same value. To search from a date to the present, only enter in the starting date. To search from a date to the earliest date available, only enter in the ending date. Dates can be in either of the following formats:
  • mm/dd/yyyy
  • yyyy-mm-dd
where (mm) is the month number, (dd) is the day of the month and (yyyy) is the year. Years can have either two or four numbers.
New Since: Use this to search for data that has been recently added. The search is done by querying data that has been added since a certain number of days, weeks, or months ago from the present date. Type in a number and select the units (days/weeks/months).
Type Attributes: To require or exclude data by certain attributes, click on attributes found in either the "Require" or "Exclude" lists. To remove or add additional attributes to the search, shift (or Apple) click items. The definitions for Level 1G, Orthorectified, Terrain Corrected, and Not-Validated are described under Data Attributes and the definitions for BSQ, GeoTIFF, and MrSID are described under Data Formats.
Enter Parameters: Type in the starting and ending path and the starting and ending row for up to 10 queries and the click on

Entering in the ending path or row is not required if the starting path or row is the same. If you are not satisfied your selection, simply change the parameter values and click on "Submit Query" again.
Results: After clicking on "Submit Query", each row with query values will display the number of scenes found. If no scenes are found for that row, it will be displayed in red. The lower left hand corner of the screen will contain the totals for all the queries, with duplicates removed.
Preview and Download: Once satisfied with the query, click on this button to see the results of all queries at the Workspace screen.
Starting Over: To clear all values on this form, click on the "Clear" button to start over.
